What does our local offer for our care leavers mean?

Just because you have left care, or are leaving care, doesn’t mean we stopped caring about you.

We want to make sure that you feel safe and supported and know where and who to go to for advice and help. The Newcastle Care Leavers Local Offer describes all the support available to Care Leavers.

You need to know exactly what you need or be open to the service already.

If you're unsure whether we can help, just get in touch - and if we're not the right people, we'll help you find someone who is.

Our duty inbox is checked Monday to Friday. We'll do our best to respond and point you in the right direction.

You can come to us for all sorts of things, finding somewhere to live, getting into education or work, or building the skills you need to live independently. You might also be able to get a setting‑up‑home allowance, and if you're struggling, we can sometimes help out financially too.

We’re here for every young person, no matter your situation. Whether you’re studying, working, a young parent, in custody, or living somewhere else in the country or even abroad, you can still reach out.

Sometimes the support you need is as simple as helping you get your ID sorted.

You don’t have to be open to the care leaving service to ask for help. Our duty inbox is checked Monday to Friday, 1–5pm, so if you’re unsure whether we can help, just get in touch and we’ll do our best to point you in the right direction. And if we’re not the right people, we’ll try to find someone who is.
